Custome Window Treatments on the Cheap

As I have mentioned before, our new "fixer-upper" has a lot of blank windows.  All of our upstairs bedroom windows look like this right now.  We took down the hidious and dusty old drapes when we moved in.  My Mom bought us these vinyl roller shades just for some temporary privacy.





I came across a great idea for dressing up these inexpensive, vinyl shades in Southern Living magazine a few days ago. You take wall decals that can be found anywhere these days and simply peel and stick!  The magazine also showed the great idea of using latex paint and painting stencils designs onto the shades.  I was looking for fast and easy, instant gradification, so I went for the stickers.
                                                                                                                           

I found 3 packs of these cute flowers at Target.  $10 each.  (I have seen many designs on clearance lately too.)

The finished product!  I think these really spiced up our guest room for $30 and 10 minutes of work!  These windows would have been otherwise ignored for MANY months to come.
